“It is not the actual physical exertion that counts towards one’s progress, nor the nature of the task, but by the spirit of faith with which it is undertaken.” – St Francis Xavier Deeply rooted in the Founder’s philosophy on Individual’s progress, LICET offers opportunities to its students to excel not just in academics but to develop as complete individuals with compassion and benevolence for fellow human beings – the essence of Christian teaching. A strong feeling for the deprived, disadvantaged and under privileged, is being inculcated in the students through spirituality. Campus Ministry provides several occasions for students to experience God and transmit Godliness in their day to day life. In the pursuit of spiritual enrichment, LICET Campus Ministry offers following services & opportunities for students & staff to connect spiritually and experience spiritual wellbeing.
VISION
To form a socially responsible community, committed to holistic development, rooted in faith, integrity and service, towards a just humane society.
MISSION To facilitate the spiritual, moral and human formation of students, faculty and staff through prayer, reflection, accompaniment, fellowship and service, rooted in LICET’s values and Ignatian tradition.
OBJECTIVES
- To foster spiritual growth through prayer, reflection, liturgical celebrations, retreats and faith-based activities.
- To promote holistic formation by nurturing the spiritual, moral, human and social development of students, faculty and staff.
- To provide accompaniment and guidance that support personal growth, discernment, well-being and responsible decision-making.
- To nurture the values of faith, integrity, compassion, justice and service within the LICET community.
- To build a prayerful and inclusive community through fellowship, dialogue, mutual respect and shared celebrations.
- To strengthen the Ignatian tradition and values of LICET through meaningful spiritual, formative and reflective programmes.
- To encourage social responsibility and service by developing sensitivity towards the needs of others and the wider society.
- To integrate reflection and value formation into campus life through prayer services, spiritual activities and formative programmes associated with academic and institutional initiatives.
The Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus and the Patron of the College is celebrated every year on 31st July. Normally the community gathers near the statue of St. Ignatius at the college portico for a common prayer and blessing.
Corpus Christi Procession is a special occasion held every year in the campus. The Procession followed by a Holy Mass, through the Loyola Campus fills the institution with God’s presence and blessings.
Retreat for catholic students is a regular feature of the Campus Ministry.
A Holy mass is celebrated every first Friday of the month, in the Centre of Peace. LICET as an inclusive community accommodates the interest of the non-Catholic students in their pursuit of holistic development .
