EnGenia is one of the facets of vibrant campus life at LICET. It is a two day annual cultural fest for students to reinvent their talents, showcase their creative and innovative skills. EnGenia fosters self-belief, perseverance, hard work and most of all, teamwork among the participants and encourages a healthy competition between the departments.

This year the annual cultural extravaganza will be held on 29th and 30th September 2023.

Channel Surfing

● 10 – 15 Participants per Team
● Maximum Time: 5 mins
● A list of channels will be provided beforehand, the judges may choose to give their
own channels during the event.
● No time will be given for preparation. Props can be used. Unique features of channels are preferred.

dance

● 20-25 Participants per Team
● Total time – 9 mins [7 mins (minimum 3 styles included) + 2 min preparation]
● Last-minute changes are not allowed.

Theme Show

● 18 – 25 Participants per Department
● Time on stage – 7 mins (performance) & 2 min (preparation)
● Theme for the event: Promising Beacons
The theme could be brought in different art forms.

Spotlight

● 8 – 15 Participants per Department
● Time: 5 mins (performance) & 1 min preparation
Can be performed by individuals or as a team. The decorum of the college should be preserved.
Mimicking / Imitating faculty or management will lead to disqualification.

Music

● 12 -18 Participants per Department including the band manager.
● Maximum Time: 10 mins + 2 mins (for preparation)
● The participants are requested to submit their requirements to the faculty in charge
beforehand to ensure that their instruments are in accordance with the stage settings.
Fusion is not allowed. Lyrics should be submitted on or before 21-09-2023 for approval from the
in-charges.

Short film

● 1 team per department. No restriction on the participants’ count
● Time: 6 min – 8 min
● Theme: Silver Years
● Subtitles must be included.
● Following Industrial standards is recommended; Work with 2k and not with HD
Works will be considered for competition only if they have a total running time of
6 minutes and were submitted before 21-09-2023 (12:30 pm). All qualified entries must be
independently produced and financed.

Rangoli

● 3 Teams per Department;
● 6 Participants per Team
● Time limit: 1 hour 30 mins.
Colour powder and Eco-friendly materials can be used but not salt to articulate the
patterns. Space will be allotted by lot on the previous day of the event.

Poetry Writing (English)

● 5 – 7 Participants per Department.
● Time limit: 1-hour
A Photo / Image will be given on the spot and a poem has to be written based on the given image. Participants will be judged based on their ability to bring out the theme & their language command. Poetry Writing will be held on 27-9-2023.

Poetry Writing (Tamil)

● 5 – 7 Participants per Department.
● Time limit: 1-hour

Public Speaking – English

● Maximum time on the dais: 3 – 4mins

Block and tackle

● 4 Participants per Department
● Each participant will be given 4 mins
● Can use English or Tamil to communicate
Vulgarity will lead to elimination; the Jury’s decision is final and binding.

Face Painting

● 4 Teams per Department
● 2 Participants per Team
Fancy your own imagination. Face paints and cosmetic face glitters are allowed. Use
only a brush & sponge. No attachments or stencils are allowed. Models may not paint
themselves.

JAM

● 4 participants per Department
THREE rounds will be decided by the programme in charge. The participant should speak on the
given topic without repetition, hesitation & deviation from the allotted topic until the minute is
up, or the opponent taps the clock(When a mistake is made). Then the mic is passed on.

Minute to Glory

● 5 participants per Department
● Individual event
● Martial Arts is not permitted
Participants get a minute to showcase their talents.

Pot Pourri

● 2 Teams per Department,
● 4 Participants per Team
● Duration to guess: 1 min

Round 2: Pictionary
Round 3: Surprise Round

Ship Wreck

● 4 Participants per Department
● Time for defending: 4 min; Questions Session: 3 min
● Personalities will be allotted by lots
Participants pretend to be a given character in a sinking ship. They must convince the “captain”
that their life must be the one to be saved.

ADZAP

● 1 team with 10 participants from each Department
Teams will pick lots with product names 15 minutes prior to their performance. The
maximum performance time is 10 mins (plus 3 min question session). The judges can question
the team on their product & presentation. Vulgarity will lead to elimination.

Connections

● Two teams per Department
● 3 Participants per Team
● Time duration for each team to guess: 2 minutes
There are 4 rounds. Participants are shown multiple images on the screen which they must
connect together.

Essay Writing – English

● 4 Participants per Department
● Time limit: 1 hour
The topic will be given on the spot. The essay writing event will be held on 27-9-2023.

Essay Writing – Tamil

● 4 Participants per Department
● Time limit: 1 hour

Voice over

  • ● 2 Teams per Department
    ● 2 Participants per Team
    ● Performance time: 3 min
  • A 3-minute video will be played after which the participants must perform voice-over to the
    audio

Photography

● 5 Participants per Department
● Duration: 1 hour
The theme will be given on the spot. The content plays a major role. Students are permitted to
take pictures only inside the college (Loyola campus). The date and time should be fixed in the
camera. Use of Mobile phones is not permitted. Editing is also not permitted.

Poster design

● 6 Participants per Department
● Maximum Time: 1 hour
The theme will be given on the spot. Participants will be required to design their posters in
‘Adobe Photoshop’. Participants will be judged based on creativity & expertise. Pictures will be
provided by the event in charge.

Master of Ceremony

● 4 Participants per Department
● Bilingual (Tamil and English)
● Time on stage: 3 mins
Participants should perform based on the situation given by the judges on the spot.

Spin A Yarn (Cook up a story) – English

● Time: 3 min for presenting the story and 2 min for a question session
Images will be projected for which participants should develop a story.

Pencil Sketch

● 8 Participants per Department
● Time limit: 1 hour
The drawings must illustrate the competition theme mentioned on the spot. The drawing can be in pencil (black and white). The drawings must be in A4 or A3 format. Pencil Sketching
will be held on 27-9-2023.

Wealth out of waste

● 4 Teams per Department.
● 2 Participants per Team
● Building time: 1 hour
The materials required must be brought by the participant. Waste can be defined as something
that can no longer be used at its full capability. Scissors, glue etc must be brought in by the
participants. The list of the materials must be approved by 21-09-2023, by the event incharges.
Examples of waste are eggshells, Plastic bags, Plastic bottles, cans, cardboard, newspapers, old
clothes etc.

Adapt tune

● 2 Teams per Department
● 2 participants per team
● Time limit: 2 min
Participants will be judged based on adaptability and skills. The teams must consist of the same
gender only.
