IAJES Summit 2024

IAJES Summit 2024: It was yet another networking and collaboration opportunity, this time worldwide. Recently our officials got an opportunity to attend the International Association of Jesuit Engineering Schools (IAJES) Summit 2024 held at Xavier Institute of Management (XIM Bhubaneswar) University, Bhubaneshwar with our Director and Dean of Students.

They interacted with around 40 delegates from engineering schools in US, Indonesia, Philippines, India, Cameroon, Mexico, France, Ireland and Spain. It was a dynamic platform for the engineering schools and universities to come together and foster collaborative efforts in teaching learning through sharing of best practices, resources, and methodologies, joint research initiatives, cross-disciplinary projects and professional growth through exposure to diverse perspectives and expertise.

Some of the aspects focused in the interactive sessions were measuring the outcomes of students’ formation, the impact of AI in teaching, learning and research, total wellbeing of our students in the present context of technology addiction and mental health issues and so on. The ongoing collaborative projects and task forces on AI and humanity, energy, humanitarian engineering and frugal innovation, healthcare, infrastructure, research and academic cooperation and also looking at STEM with a women’s perspective were presented and reviewed.

The entire 3 days summit was an enlightening and enriching experience with many takeaways and useful connections.
