Lithopia – The Literary Club of LICET

The Club

Lithopia, the Literary Club of Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering and Technology (LICET), serves as a vibrant forum that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and a deep appreciation for language and literature. Rooted in LICET’s commitment to holistic education, Lithopia nurtures students’ literary instincts through a wide range of intellectually engaging and expressive activities.

Aim

The LICET Literary Club seeks to promote and sustain all domains of literary expression—ranging from reading, debating, and public speaking to storytelling, poetry recitation, sketching, and creative writing. Through year-round events and collaborations with other institutions, the club aims to cultivate a strong literary culture on campus.

Objectives

  • To inculcate a flair for language and enhance students’ literary skills
  • To cultivate consistent reading habits
  • To encourage oratory skills and promote independent, critical thinking
  • To provide a platform for debates and discussions
  • To improve and inspire creative writing across genres

Events Organized

The club organizes an array of events throughout the academic year, including:

  • Creative writing competitions
  • Debates and elocution
