Workshops
- Agentic AI workshop
A one-day hands-on workshop on “Agentic AI” was organised on 13th September 2025. Mr. Deepan Raj, HCL Technologies, was the resource person. The workshop provided participants with practical exposure to designing, developing, and deploying autonomous AI agents, enabling them to gain hands-on experience with emerging AI technologies and real-world applications.
- Web3 Technologies Workshop
A one-day hands-on workshop on “Web3 Technologies” was organised on 21st January 2026. Mr. Romario Kavin, Lead Developer at Decimal, and Mr. Rahul Shanmugam, Full Stack Web3 Developer, served as the resource persons. The workshop provided participants with practical exposure to Web3 technologies, including blockchain development, smart contracts, decentralized applications (dApps), and full-stack Web3 architecture, enabling them to gain hands-on experience in building decentralized solutions.
- A one day hands-on workshop on “LogicLab: The Art of Logical Thinking” was organised on 7th December 2024. Mr Deepak, Frontend angular developer, BNP Paribas was the resource person
- A one day hands-on workshop on “Building Intelligent Systems using GenAI, RAG and AI Agents” was conducted on 22nd February 2025. Mr Deepan Raj, Technical Manager, HCLTech Ltd facilitated the workshop
Industry Academia Conclave
Industry Academia Conclave was organised to bridge the gap between industry and academia on 4th March 2025. The conclave was titled AI in Industry: Innovations, Opportunities, and Responsible Adoption for sensitising the students on the various opportunities, projects and ethical aspects of AI in industry. The panelist are Mr Saravana Manikandan S, Senior Principal Program Manager, IntelSat, Mr Emmanuel Anand, Senior Director, Virtusa, Mr Xavier Prakash Irudayaraj, Director, Screenit Labs, Mr Sivaraman Armugam, Associate Director, Data Science & Engineering, Verizon and Ms Jessica Jeyakumar, TeDx Speaker, Freshworks Solution Engineer.
Key takeaways from the conclave included the significance of hands-on projects, participation in hackathons, continuous learning, and professional networking in shaping industry-ready AI professionals. The discussions also emphasized that AI is not a job killer but a job transformer, shifting roles and requiring professionals to adapt, upskill, and innovate in the evolving AI landscape.
Project-Based Learning was organized for second-year students with the objective of developing solutions for real-time societal challenges. Students were grouped into 23 teams, each consisting of up to three members. The initiative was designed to help students apply theoretical concepts in practical settings through innovative project development and demonstrations.
Regular review sessions were conducted to monitor progress and provide constructive feedback throughout the project lifecycle. The Project Expo served as a platform for students to present their work and showcase their problem-solving skills.
Industry professionals were invited as external judges to evaluate the projects, share expert insights, and offer valuable feedback. Their participation enriched the learning experience by exposing students to industry expectations and real-world perspectives.
Project Driven Learning
Orientation Program
The orientation program was conducted for the students of first year students. Sessions on Career prospectus on AI&DS, addressed by seniors and alumni, industry interaction, goal setting, entry level aptitude assessment, workshop on excel for data analytics and talent hunt was conducted.
The parents teachers meeting was organised on 23/11/2025. The total number of parents attended the meeting was 50. The feedback was shared by both parents and the teachers on the ward’s performance and the TLP. The parents were overall satisfied with the quality of students’ guidance and appreciated the efforts taken by the department and the institution.
PTA meets
Sports and Games
The Department of AI & DS participated in the Annual Sports Competition and won the Overall Discipline Trophy for team spirit and active participation.
Mr. Dario S (1st year AI & DS) secured third place in the Men’s 800-meter Athletics competition.
