IETE STUDENTS FORUM
The IETE Students Forum was inaugurated on 25/07/2016 by Smt. Smrithi Dagur, President, IETE, New Delhi. Guest of Honor was Mr.Ramasamy, Immediate past Chairman, IETE, Chennai. The keynote address was delivered on Internet of Things by Dr.Swarna Ravindra Babu, CHairman, IETE, Chennai. Various activities such as Industry Academia Conclave, Symposium and Guest Lectures are being organized every Academic Year under the banner of IETE.

Foundation Day
The 71st IETE Foundation Day celebration was hosted at LICET on January 24, 2025. The Chief Guest, Dr. A. Paventhan of ERNET India, spoke on 6G technology, Tactile Internet, and existing internship opportunities for engineering students. Our Principal, the Guest of Honour insisted that we should keep updating ourselves and master the fundamental concepts. Dr. V. Thulasi Bai, Professor at KCG College of Technology, was given the Women Achiever award for her outstanding research contributions and also the senior members of IETE were honoured. The event was truly inspiring.
Engineer’s Day
Engineer’s Day 2024
The Department of ECE (LICET) in association with IETE Student Forum and TEC Club celebrated Engineer’s Day on 13/09/24. Everyone felt a sense of pride when Mr.Dinesh Parthasarathy, Chief Guest of the day delivered a motivational speech on the Topic, Engineering – Transforming Ideas into Reality and shared his achievement that Agnikul Cosmos launched the first semi-cryogenic rocket Aaryan 5 built using additive manufacturing on May 30th 2024. All were inspired by the achievement of the company. Students participated in the pitch your idea, technical debate and quiz conducted by TEC Club with enthusiasm.

Students Day 2025
The Department of ECE (LICET) in association with The IETE Students Forum celebrated the IETE Students day on 21st February 2025. Mr. Karthick. R Associate General Manager – HRD, Data Patterns India Ltd. was the Guest Speaker. The scope and opportunities for Electronic Engineers with skills in Quantum computing and VLSI Design in Defense and Aerospace sectors were highlighted. Tech Charades – A Technical Quiz and Tech Swift Battle – An event that explored product based knowledge of the participants were conducted.
Guest Lecture
Game Technology
A Guest Lecture on Game Technology was organized by the ECE department and IETE Students Forum, on February 4, 2025. The session, led by Mr.Mothilal Surya from Image Creative Education, explored the technological aspects of game development. It covered the roles of game artists, programmers, and designers in creating interactive experiences. The event provided valuable insights for second and third-year students of ECE.
