Computer Science and Engineering
Faculty & Staff
In the department of Computer Science, the faculty’s expertise and dedication are centered on excellence in application-oriented academic teaching at the Master’s level, cooperative graduation, applied science, and cooperation with a variety of business sectors and foreign partner universities. The obsession with and excitement for potential developments based on today’s possibilities is the common thread that runs through all activities. Faculty and students of the department have been instrumental in developing and maintaining software applications ranging from Performance Evaluation System, Apps for Education, Learning Management System (Moodle), Enterprise-wide Content Management System, and various other campus-wide networking activities.
The department staff also encourages innovative projects and quality research in various interrelated domains. The department is involved in major research on which faculty members and students work in several areas such as Networks, Database, Theoretical Computer Science, Multimedia, Image Processing, Software Engineering, Data Mining, Big Data, Machine Learning, and Internet of Things.

Dr V J Sharmila , Associate Professor, completed Ph.D. in the Faculty of Information and Communication in the year 2023 from Anna University, Chennai, India. She has completed her Masters in Computer Science and Engineering in the year 2008 from Dr Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering,Tiruchendur, India. She has got an experience of 14 years in teaching and research. She has published four articles in International Journals and 2 presentations in Conferences and recognized research supervisor of Anna University, Chennai. Rev Dr Justine obtained his PhD in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, from ICAI, University of Comillas , Madrid, SPAIN. He holds a Master of Engineering degree in Mathematical Models of Engineering Systems, with more than 15 years of RESEARCH and TEACHING experience. He has authored two books and edited five books. He has a few captivating Short stories to his credit. He is an ardent seeker and learner of memory methods and study techniques. He can Speak and Write in English, Spanish, French and Tamil.

Dr G R Jainish has completed her Ph.D in Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering in the year 2019. She has qualified UGC-NET in Computer Science and Applications. She has been the Co-investigator for the project “Multiframe – Super Resolution of 3D CMR for Improved Diagnosis of Coronary Heart Disease” funded by AICTE. She has published 10 research articles in Journals including Springer publication and 17 papers in conferences. She worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Dr.Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering, before joining LICET. She also has experience in preparation of documents for AICTE Approval process and NBA accreditation. She has 16+ years of experience in teaching and her areas of specialization include Medical Imaging, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and IoT.

Ms Sathia Priya R has wide teaching experience in reputed institutions and has taught various courses for B.E., M.E., M.C.A, and M.Phil. Degree Programmes. She has a post-graduate degree in Systems Engineering and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Anna University. She is the recipient of Prof. T.R. Natesan Endowment Award and Silver medal for securing the second position in M.E. Her research interests include Big Data Frameworks and Machine Learning.

Dr Remegius Praveen Sahayaraj L completed Ph.D. in the Faculty of Information and Communication in the year 2023 from Anna University, Chennai, India. He has completed his Masters in Computer Science and Engineering in the year 2013 from SRM University, Chennai, India. He has got an experience of 9+ years in teaching and research. Currently he is working as an Assistant Professor in Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering and Technology, Chennai, India. He has published 7 articles in International Journals and 5 presentations in International Conferences. He is an active reviewer of research articles in IEEE and other reputed International Journals. His research interests include Cloud Computing, IoT, Web Security, Managing Spatial Data in Cloud and Log Analysis. She has an experience of 4+ years as Assistant Professor and as Placement Coordinator in the department of Computer Science and Engineering at E.G.S.Pillay Engineering College, Nagapattinam, Tamilnadu. She has presented research articles in National and international Conferences. Her areas of interest include cryptography, network security and database.

Ms Daya Mary Mathew has received Master’s Degree for Computer Science and Engineering from APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (Kerala) in 2017. She has 9.5 years of experience in the IT industry. She has worked as faculty in Jeppiaar Institute and Technology and Rajalakshmi Engineering College prior to joining LICET in August 2022. She has presented research articles in National and international Conferences. Her areas of interest include Data Mining, Machine Learning and Cryptography.

Additionally, she has completed certifications from IIT-M in Advanced Programming Professional and Master Data Science. She has published two papers in Scopus journals and presented at conferences. Ms. L. Freesie Greta
Ms. L. Freesie Greta is an Assistant Professor with a passion for teaching and 9 years of experience in the field. She earned her B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University and her M.E. in the same discipline from Anna University. Throughout her career, she has handled various subjects for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, guiding numerous projects at both levels. She has organized events such as Faculty Development Programs (FDP) and has experience managing various academic files, contributing to NBA Criteria 5. With a strong interest in cybersecurity, she aims to pursue a Ph.D. in this specialization in the near future.
Ms. Shirly Sudhakaran
Ms. Shirly Sudhakaran, Assistant Professor, has professional experience in Educational Institutions and various Government projects. A prototype of the Indian Government proposal for Online Toll Gate Payment and Anti-Theft using RFID was built and submitted to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in SRM Valliammai Engineering College, Anna University, during her Bachelor of Engineering (CSE). She also enhanced her management and training skills by serving as a freelance Communication trainer and Recruiter for various job sectors in India, later extended to Gulf placements. Focusing on her technical skills, she built a Smart System for the Chennai Suburban Railways in Chennai Institute of Technology, Anna University, during her Master of Engineering (CSE). As this project involved study of humans and Supply Chain Management, she strengthened her knowledge in the same through Master of Business Administration (HRM) from Annamalai University (DDE). Working in DDUGKY – Government project as a Communication Trainer helped her to practically learn the behaviour of humans. She is currently pursuing Ph.D. in VIT Chennai working on A Novel Framework for Automated Route Generation in Railways. She is also associated with Learnident, an affiliate of Glomazer Services, as a (freelance) member of the Academic Committee. As a researcher and an active learner in latest technologies she has a keen interest in learning and building Smart City towards which she is working presently.
